Shari Bolen, MD, MPH Case Western Reserve University The MetroHealth System Shari Bolen is Co-Principal Investigator of the Heart Healthy Ohio Initiative (HHOI) and serves as the Co-Lead of the HHOI Executive and Implementation Teams. Dr. Bolen is a practicing general internist at The MetroHealth System, and, an Associate Professor of Medicine, Population and Quantitative Health Sciences at Case Western Reserve University (CWRU). She serves as the Director of the CWRU Center for Health Care Research and Policy at The MetroHealth System and directs the MetroHealth Population Health Research Institute. The majority of her research time is spent on health services and quality improvement (QI) research in cardiovascular risk reduction. She also serves as the Director of Cardiovascular Disease Programs for Better Health Partnership, a regional health improvement collaborative in Northeast Ohio. Dr. Bolen has led successful regional and statewide QI initiatives in diverse primary care practices improving blood pressure control and reducing disparities in blood pressure control, and is currently the clinical lead for a diabetes QI initiative in high volume Medicaid practices across the state. She co-leads the Ohio Department of Medicaid funded statewide cardiovascular health collaborative (Cardi-OH) whose mission is to improve cardiovascular health and reduce disparities in cardiovascular health across Ohio. Dr. Bolen serves on several national committees to impact guidelines and policy for cardiometabolic health improvement including the DHHS National Clinical Care Commission and CDC Hypertension Roundtable. |
