Christopher Bernheisel is the Co-Lead of the Stakeholder Engagement Committee for the Heart Healthy Ohio Initiative (HHOI). Dr. Bernheisel is a Professor and the Chair of the Department of Community and Family Medicine at the University of Cincinnati. Before serving as the interim chair, he was the Program Director of the Family Medicine Residency, serving in this role for ten years. His clinical practice is split at a local federally qualified health center (FQHC) and a free clinic, serving a predominately immigrant population. He has spent the past seven years studying process improvement and management lessons from industry and applying them to healthcare and medical education.
